The everyday cooking oil of South Indian kitchens – nutty, aromatic and made for frying.

Hampi Pure® Wood-Pressed Groundnut Oil (kadalekai enne / mungfali tel) is pressed from select groundnuts and left unrefined, so you get the real peanut aroma and taste your grandmother cooked with.

Best for

  • Daily cooking – dal, sabzi, palya, rice dishes
  • Deep frying – bajji, vada, puri, papad
  • Tadka and chutneys where you want a nutty flavour
  • Families who want one dependable oil for everything

Why it is good for you

  • Naturally rich in monounsaturated fats (MUFA) – a heart-friendly fat when used as part of a balanced diet
  • Contains natural Vitamin E, an antioxidant
  • Unrefined – no hexane, no bleaching, no deodorising

How to use

  • Use the same way as any cooking oil – no change to your recipes
  • Holds up well to high heat, so it suits Indian frying
  • Tip: wood-pressed oil has more flavour, so many families find they use a little less

Why wood-pressed?

We press the seeds slowly in a traditional wooden ghani (marachekku) at low speed, so the oil stays cool and keeps its natural nutrients, aroma and taste. No chemicals, no refining, no bleaching, no preservatives – just seeds, pressed fresh in small batches.

FAQs

Why does it smell stronger than my old oil?
Refined oils are deodorised, so they smell of nothing. This is what real groundnut oil smells like – the aroma mellows once cooked.

Can I deep fry with it and reuse it?
Yes, it is great for frying. Like any oil, avoid reusing it many times; strain and use it within a day or two.

Which size should I buy?
A family of 4 typically uses 3–4 litres a month. The 5 Ltr jar is the best value for regular use.

Storage: Best before 12 months from packing. Keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. A little natural sediment at the bottom is normal – it shows the oil is unrefined.
