A light, mild cooking oil (kusube enne) for families who want lighter, everyday meals.

Hampi Pure® Wood-Pressed Safflower Oil is pressed from safflower seeds, a traditional oil crop of North Karnataka. It has a light colour and a clean, mild taste that does not overpower your food.

Best for

  • Everyday cooking for people watching their oil intake
  • Light sabzis, dosa and chapati, shallow frying
  • Families who prefer a neutral-tasting oil
  • Rotating with groundnut or sesame oil for a variety of fats

Why it is good for you

  • Rich in unsaturated fats and naturally low in saturated fat
  • Contains natural Vitamin E
  • Light texture – a little goes a long way, which helps when you are cutting down on oil

How to use

  • Use as your daily cooking oil – no change to your recipes
  • Best for medium-heat cooking and shallow frying
  • Tip: many nutritionists suggest rotating 2–3 oils through the month; safflower pairs well with groundnut

Why wood-pressed?

We press the seeds slowly in a traditional wooden ghani (marachekku) at low speed, so the oil stays cool and keeps its natural nutrients, aroma and taste. No chemicals, no refining, no bleaching, no preservatives – just seeds, pressed fresh in small batches.

FAQs

Will safflower oil help me lose weight?
No oil burns fat. What helps is using less oil overall – and because safflower oil is light, it is easier to cook with less. Pair it with a balanced diet and activity.

Does it change the taste of food?
Very little – it is one of the mildest oils we make.

Is this sunflower oil?
No. Safflower (kusube / kardi) is a different seed with a similar light character.

Storage: Best before 12 months from packing. Keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. A little natural sediment is normal.
